Razer Ferox

One of the largest 3rd-party peripheral manufacturers in the game, Razer has built a reputation for stylish products that improve both our performance in games and the overall experience outside of them. Today, we take a look at their latest product, the Ferox, a compact speaker system that you can literally take with you wherever you go.

A portable speaker set aimed at portable gaming systems like the DS and the PSP; it'll work with just about any device with a headphone jack though, like MP3 and portable DVD players.

Pros
  • Compact size makes it incredibly portable.
  • Built-in rechargable power source means never having to worry about keeping batteries on hand.
  • Offers surprisingly decent sound for the size.
  • All-in-one cord keeps the cable tangle to a minimum.
  • Subtle use of LED lights adds a little sex appeal to the overall design.
Cons
  • Bass response is weak and leaves a lot to be desired.
  • It's really only appropriate for portable applications; don't think you can hook this up to your TV or PC--you'll probably end up blowing out the speakers.
  • Proprietary cord means if you lose it, you're hosed.
